This year’s parade takes place on Saturday, December 1st. It steps off (rain or shine) at Peachtree and 16th Street at 10:20 AM, crosses Peachtree and 11th at 10: 30 AM, and ends up at Peachtree and 5th. Following that Midtown Atlanta parade route—aka “Santa Claus Lane”—will be a dazzling lineup of floats, marching bands, dance troupes, and some humongous balloon characters bobbing over it all. Expect a cameo by Santa himself, just for good measure.
Established in 1981, the event—attended each year by thousands of spectators—benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta: a worthy cause indeed. If you’d rather not hunt around for a streetside vantage you can reserve bleacher seats between 11th and 12th streets (the parade’s TV zone).
